NORTHWEST LOCAL SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2021
Over the last two weeks we have made every effort to monitor the number of positive Covid-19 cases and quarantines that have taken place within our district. As our numbers climb considerably, we are continuing to keep the health and safety of our staff and students at the forefront of our thoughts and we are working to limit the number of students and staff member quarantines that take place with every positive case.
In an effort to narrow the number of quarantines, we will be closing school on Friday, September 10, 2021 in order to evaluate our classroom spaces across the district. This will be a mandatory Professional Development Day. All staff will be in attendance. Our hope is to identify areas where greater social distancing can be achieved. This may involve rearranging classrooms or removing items or features to create greater space.
Students will not be expected to work remotely on Friday. (Northwest Online staff and students will proceed with learning as as scheduled.)
We understand that this may be an inconvenience to many of our families, but we thank you in advance for your commitment, collaboration and your understanding as we work to keep our staff and students safe. We understand and accept that we cannot fully eliminate all risks, but we remain committed to exploring ways in which we can reduce them.
We invite our families to view our buildings’ positive Covid cases and quarantines each week and to view our Covid Response Plan Dashboard of trending data. These numbers are updated every Monday at 4:00 p.m. A link to these can also be found on the district website.
